On Behalf of Uechi International we would like to invite you to attend the next specially designed seminar in our ongoing seminar series. The seminar will be held on Friday evening August 15th, from 7 to 9 pm. The seminar will be held at Master Sensei Ken Schiff’s Dojo, located at: 1 Chace Road, Suite #14, East Freetown Ma.
The seminar will be taught by Sensei Fred DeCubellis – Owner & Sensei of the “Executive Martial Arts & Boxing School” The focus of this seminar will be how Uechi Ryu interacts with amateur and Olympic style boxing. Participants will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of amateur and Olympic style boxing & defenses designed to complement any martial arts system. Some of the areas Sensei DeCubellis will be focusing on are: Basic Boxing Stance , Foot Work , The Four Fundamental Punches of Boxing- the 1-2-3-4, Basic Defenses, and Cover Drills. The clinic will be presented in a demonstration and partner drill format. All participants will receive a certificate of completion. Please bring your regular dojo sparring equipment. In addition, if you have the following please bring – boxing gloves, fight gloves, hand wraps, head gear, and mouth pieces. Although safety is our first priority, this is a combat art and accidents happen. “No mouth piece- no clinic”, sorry no exceptions. The cost of attending the seminar is “FREE”, and is open to all practitioners of Uechi Ryu & Shohei Ryu age 13 and older.

On behalf of Master Sensei Robert J. Campbell and me, we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Shihan Senior Instructor Lisa DiOrio 5th dan to the position of “CIO” Chief Information Officer for the Uechi Ryu International Karate Association.
This appointment reflects Lisa’s fantastic design work on all aspects of “IT” Information Technology relating to – Uechi International. Lisa has for many years worked extremely hard and diligently in all aspects of our association. Lisa has worked on a number of critical projects and has assisted us many times resulting in the final outcome that has related to the advancement of Uechi International. Lisa’s most current accomplishment is the design and creation of our new official web site.
Lisa has worked on and personally helped us with so many projects that we have lost count. She has a very clear understanding of the global nature of our association, along with sound judgment, exceptional knowledge of Information Technology and understanding of how it relates to the World Wide Web. In addition, Lisa’s vast knowledge of “IT” which she brings to the table is a wealth of real world business knowledge, experience, and skills that are needed for us as an association to grow and prosper.
Lisa is also a College Professor who teaches Advanced Software Programing and Design, and who specializes in professional Web Site Design. Lisa also has a personal Web Site Design business and she contracts out to create beautiful and most importantly “Cost Effective” websites for professional small to medium size businesses. She also has vast experience in working with Martial Arts schools to develop a “Cost Effective” web presence in today’s market. I give Lisa my highest Personal Recommendation for Web Site Design. I strongly encourage you to contact Lisa if you are interested in developing a cost effective web site for your Dojo or business.

I am very sorry to announce that The seminar scheduled for Sunday July 20th, has been cancelled. Sensei Sullivan will not be able to attend, due to an unforeseen circumstance. Without Sensei Sullivan attending we believe the class would not be at the level of expertise we have come to expect. I know many of you set aside precious time to attend this seminar, we apologize for the late cancellation and I hope that you will be able to attend in the future.

On Saturday June 21, 2014, we had a great day of Uechi Training. Uechi International held a seminar open to all Uechi Ryu Students. The seminar was a success. I would like to thank Sensei’s Steve and Lisa DiOrio for hosting this seminar at their beautiful new dojo, located in Billerica, Massachusetts. In addition I would like to thank Master Instructor Tim Ford 8th dan, for teaching the seminar. Master Ford taught a great old fashion traditional Uechi Ryu class, all students attending displayed excitement and enthusiasm.
On behalf of Master Sensei Robert J. This appointment reflects Steve’s outstanding leadership and performance over many years, in a number of critical roles he has worked on and personally helped me with. Steve has a clear understanding of the global nature of our organization, along with sound judgment, exceptional knowledge and understanding of how to interact and affiliate with all Master Sensei’s, in and out of our association.
